If you have never had contact lenses before, you will need to go for an eye exam where the doctor will take appropriate measurements for contact lenses. I believe different things are required to fit a person for contacts than for glasses. You might want to call your eye doctor and find out if this has already been done. If so, and your prescription is still valid, you can get contacts immediately. Honestly though, if you have never worn contacts before, I'm not sure a party is the time to start wearing them at first -- it might take your eyes some time to get used to them and you might be very uncomfortable and have a bad time at the party.

if you go to walmart, theyll have you take an eye exam and go through a little training session on how to put contacts in, out, cleaning, etc. if your prescription isnt too complicated they will most likely have a box for you (soft lenses),

you arent supposed to keep them in for a whole day the first time. you keep adding hours every day until your eyes arent straining. i suggest you put them in right before the party and take them out right after. that way youll be safe, and look good :)

You have to get a prescription for contacts first so go see your Dr. And then you can go to Wal-Mart and pick them up.

You need to get a separate prescription. Eye exam. Then you can get some.
