I collected around 60 european Horror classic on DVDs from the 1960´s and 1970´s especially from Mario Bavas, Fulcis, Argentos cult italian horror classics from the past two decades. Even though I also enjoy to collect the hammer british horror classic, both italian & british classic horror directors had tried so bloody hard to produce a damned extreme good horror actings from those days.

Then I´ve tried to compare with the new mainstream American Horrorproductions which are featuring and stressing more the actings of unknown big booby playmates in their colleague teenie modern Horrorstories like "Tales from the Crypt, Scary Movies etc". Oh God, their actings & dialogues are seriously awful and the line story (Script) is totally empty /unisnpired! they are unlike the charismatic dialogues of Vincent Price, Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing nor Boris Karloff who had driven their horses with their scary huge black cape.

I enjoy the gothic horror so much, it was so original and so wonderf

@ Ginger darlin, you´re right, Rosemary´s baby, the old universal horror flicks from the 40´s, the exorcist 1 & 2, The Birds, Psycho were very excellent american classical productions either. They were a huge rivalry for the italian giallo classic horror and the hammer british horror productions at that time. I didnt say that the Hollywood only produced the crappy remakes...No it isnt true!

but I´m very sick and tired of the new hollywood modern teenie horrors with the most big boob teenie stars,....are ya happy with me my ginger darling?

It may be because Europe has a much older history. Dracula was Transylvanian, and witchcraft etc has existed for far longer. American horror films are probably not so good due to less history and more commercialisation.

A great deal of movies from other countries are done BEFORE the Hollywood does a re-make (in English) of them. For example: The Ring. The Asian version is better than the Hollywood remake. I'm not a fan of horror, but I often watch the world movies channel and you'd be suprised how many movies Hollywood chose to remake from other countries. Every single time the original (i.e foreign) one is better than the Hollywood clone. Well, that's just my opinion :)

Okay, so you took classic movies and compared them with low end movies? Why not compare them with American cassic horror movies of the same time period? Why not use "Rosemary's Baby" "The Thing" "The Invisible Man"
"Psycho" "Frankenstein" "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers" or "the Exorcist"? Why choose obviously poor movies from a different time period and then say that the movies are bad? Of course they are.

I don't understand why you chose these two groups to contrast as they are a very uneven match up.

maximum new horror movies are all showy and concentration on the particular effect and what television celeb is in them greater beneficial than plot, suspense and genuinely performing high quality. they warfare to make up for it with music thats meant to create rigidity and tried bounce scares that for the duration of basic terms have an effect on non-horror followers and morons. the place as a results of fact the old college eu directors have been concentrated on unique suggestions and pushing barriers, as nicely as having surprising music that executed a scene fairly than in simple terms attempting to exhibit off the recent hit from Sum 40-one or something. don't get me incorrect, there are some solid new horror movies out ther, yet they only about continually blur the generas, comedy horrors like Shaun of the lifeless or lifeless and Breakfast, or Torture thrillers like observed or Hostel. maximum any new "accepted" horror movie is in simple terms old and obvious, or in simple terms relies upon upon some "awesome twist" to justify it. maximum suitable to adhere with the classics for now.

The best horror film ever made was Poltergeist, if you ask me. The first one, that is, and it was American all the way.
