Most of the time, but not always.
People interpret "gut instinct" differently. And some people would say they don't know what you mean by gut instinct.
With me, it depends on whether or not there's time for reflection. If there isn't, then I'll go with my gut instinct; but if there is, then I want to stop and contemplate the alternatives if there are any.

Always --- I have a very strong gut instinct--- and when it tells me not to do something, I listen.

I always try to, but sometimes the gut ain't' talkin' loud enough, but when I do hear it I am usually right on the money enough that my friends listen to my when it talks too.....
