Hi. I need help with math homework.
Question is:
1.Is 14,949 a reasonable answer for 3 x 4,983? Estimate a finding range.
2. Is 6,704 a reasonable answer for 856 x 9?
Estimate a finding range.

1. 3*5,000 = 15,000
3(5,000 - 17) = 15,000 - 51 = 15,949 exactly.
2. 9*800 = 7,200
10*856 = 8,560
6,704 is not a reasonable answer
8,560 - 856 = 7,704

Calculating 3x 4983 gives me 14,949 but calculating 856x 9 gives me 7704.
