I'd take Colin Powell over Barack, and almost all the others any day, so no, it's not "race".

I'm white, and yes, I do believe that Barack Obama does have a shot at becoming President. It's not whether he's black, white, or any combination in between. It's because he's a genuine alternative to yet another term by a member of the Bush/Clinton dynasties. I'd much rather vote for Barack Obamba, or John Edwards than Hillary Clinton.

Yes, I certainly am.
I do believe there are more people who hate Hillary than are against a black man for President. Obama seems to be one of those black men whose color goes unnoticed...people hear what he has to say I also believe Mitt Romney will have problems just trying to overcome the fact he is a Mormon. I fail to see why that fact is a problem...but it is. Don't count your chickens just yet fella. It ain't over till it's over and I think a black man has a better chance than a woman or a Mormon.. I agree tho that we are a very strange society as there is much prejudice here..

I am white. I am not pursuaded by an ethnic background. If I see honesty within this Man that will encourage America. Yes I will vote for him. I was quit upset when General Colin Powell turned down the offer to run for Presidency. The most brillant Man that I have ever known within Politics since John F Kennedy. I have very high respect for both of these talented Men.

Distracted. There's so much out there that when it comes to important stuff like school my head is in the clouds. My friends are always trying to talk during class to me, there's always a tapping pencil that just makes me want to pull my hair out. Oh yeah, and trees, for some odd reason I find interesting during math. I'm being completely serious too. I guess I'm a bit too easily irritated also.

Dude, when are people like you gonna realize? Black box voting is a fraud! It doesn't matter if Obama is black, white, green, or yellow. The man who becomes president, is the man who the power elite CHOOSE to put in office. America picks the president, but the choices have already been picked FOR you by the power elite. They do this so they can't loose. It's like buying cola at the store. You pick the cola brand, but either way, you picked cola. Don't believe me? Look at the success of Ron Paul. Look at the enormous amount of money and supporters he has. But the little people (like yourself) probably have never heard the guys name. Why? Because the mainstream media is bought and paid for by the global elite. They won't allow the man to succeed, because they (the global elite) hold the cards, not you. The elections are a fraud. Anyone who doesn't realize it, has their head straight up their a**.

I know there are plenty of racists in this country still but I would like to hope that for the most part, as a nation, the issues and a persons character are much more important than black or white. I generally vote republican but from what i know about him, I would consider voting for him- long before I would vote for (I will keep my opinions to myself) Hillary.
Personally I think it is ignorant not to vote for him just because he is black as well as it is ignorant to vote for him just because he is black- same goes for Hillary being a woman- anyone voting or not voting for someone based solely on race or gender has proven themselves a fool.
To directly answer your question , though, I think there is enough of a black population in this country that would vote for him just because he is black and their plenty of others out there who agree with his politics and are impressed by the way he carries himself that he has just a good a chance as anyone else.
The only thing that I think would hold him back is his muslim background- I don't know how many in America are ready to accept that or believe that he is not muslim (not my thoughts about him, just my observations of others)

I hope he gets the vote, then maybe things will change for the better for both black and white. Maybe he will actually change the black persons life in America and change the white person attitude of the black person kind of life. Do I think he will get it, no because of the political ignorance on the White House!!!!!

It isn't only cause he's black (though I support Ron Paul, Barack Obama is my backup), but because the media has already put She who must not be named in the white house. I am looking into overseas alternatives just in case. Perhaps, just perhaps, this is one election where enough people will turn out to vote that the media and mega corps won't win. One can always hope.

No chance, because the Clinton campaign will threaten him late in the season, and muscle him into bowing out.
Or, they will dig up tons of dirt (doesn't have to be true) and start mudslinging.
Hillary Clinton is clearly a completely insane, power-hungry person who will do anything to become president. I feel Sorry for Obama because he's going to get pummelled by a bunch of dirty tactics.

he really has no shot to win the election
I think he is a well spoken and intelligent individual but his politics are way to far to the left for me
he actually wants to outlaw the possession of all semi auto firearms (rifle shotgun and handgun)
this is a dangerous area for someone that needs the support of the majority of the electorate
