oh i feel the pain. it is really agravating. i am in a very similar situation. i saw the dr when my period wouldnt stop and put me on bc also. i had my period for 14 days. well i am still bleeding havent stopped and its been 53 days now. went back to the dr recently and she told me that it can be normal not to stop because every woman is different. i actually had 3 days of very very heavy bleeding. the dr also said its only been a month on the bc and it takes a full 3 months for your body to adjust.blah blah. lol so she is sending me to another dr that has a specialty in these issues. she also stated that i could try depo, however its a 50/50 chance that i would either stop or make me bleed longer, and then their hands are tied for 3 months. so your answer is yes its normal for some women.

And the birth control you are on is??? The brand would be an important piece of information for us answerers. :)

Depending on your brand, it could be normal. However I'd talk to the doctor ASAP about your period still there and your cramps getting worse.

Sadly, birth control can wreak havoc on your body! Most of my symptoms have gone away, but I still have breast tenderness all the time. If the symptoms persist or you can't take it anymore, then call your doc, but they'll prob tell you to wait it out, or quit taking them at the end of the pack. Good luck!
