I had an episode of this last night. Turned the whole house upside down because I really really need an important document which I put away in a "safe place"
I did finally found it though - an hour later and after a bit of lateral thinking about where it could be.

I once put some money (5000$, which I put away to buy a car) in a supposed safe place. My safe place happened to be something disposable and I threw it away.
When I came to look for my money and was trying to remember where I put it, I suddenly remembered where I put it. I ran to the garbage and luckily it was still there. phewt.

Thank your lucky stars that this is an odd occurance for yourself. No joke, I go through this at least once a day with my car keys and other things just as much. The last thing I lost (misplaced) was a $50 note that I had put somewhere for safe keeping for paying a bill. It turned up 2 weeks later and I swear I looked in the eventually found it place twenty times!

Done that too many times. Once I couldn't find a really, really important set of documents until the day after they were due to be turned in. NOT good!

my mom does that
this once she bought this outrageously expensive watch and she thought it was precious and hid it somewhere in her outrageously huge clothes cupboard
the result she could not find it when she needed it and she found it only 2 and a half months later while looking for another "precious" thing she had hidden away

yes, i have done the same thing, kinda funny cuz yesterday i was looking desperately for something i had used 11 years ago and couldn't find it, now again when i needed it. I DID find it though..

ive just spent the past 4 weeks looking for my birth cert(i put away in THAT SAFE SPOT),so i had to pay nearly $45,to get another,i bet il find the otherone tho..cheers

I do that all the time,it drives me crazy,I need to see things in order to deal with them,or I forget about them,sometimes it gets worse than others...oldtimers.
