Scientists like Stephen Hawking have been talking about multiple universes in other states. Should there be a name for our Universe to distinguish the other ones? If so, what should the name be?

Long before any other theories about multiple universes came about, the vast area of space was named...the Universe. The word "Universe" is of Middle English and Latin decent meaning "Turned in to One".

So our ancestors, thousands of years ago, did name the area of space and it was named..(you guest it) The Universe.

With multiple universes coming about due to the theories of modern science, not one has not been named because nothing has actually been found. Sure mathematical models and theories have said it could exist, however not one has been discovered yet. Until another one is discovered it does not get a name.

The 'Earth, and our galaxy 'Milky Way' are a subset of the universe. In fact the totality of all matter and energy that exists in the vastness of space, whether known to human beings or not is the Universe. A parallel universe would be the same as ours... so its the same thing in a nut shell.

We basically are unable to observe what is beyond the Universe which in Greek is called the cosmos.

We dont really know what kind of structure is our Creator's HEAVEN beyound the containment of our Universe we live in.

Theory is developed by scientists, however unless there is a way to test a theory and experimentally observe beyound the limits of our Universe; the theoretical speculation still remains pseudoscience.

People had observed Milky Way or Silver River(in Chinese Astronomy.) long time ago, before the modern concept of universe was formed.
So the vision of universe is relatively new. Therefore it has no particular name.

the universe's name is Universe. and there's only ONE universe so no need to name it.
for example...
stars have names cuz there's tons of stars
children have names to differ from one another.
same with the planets and other celestial objects.
so i guess that's the explaination.
no need to call it something cause there is no "other" universe, right?

No need to give it a name because there is only one universe.

It's called "The Universe".

Until we can prove there are othe ones, we'll call it "The Universe".

And even then, there are many many many moons in our solar system and elsewhere. Our moon is still called "The Moon".
