No one takes me serious? How can i get Crediblity within my friends? How can i make Great first impression?

i always wonder why anyone can't take me serious? my friends always make jokes on me... even infront of new people. and that gives wrong impression of me to the new person.. so the new person also doesnt think i can be serious...

for example: the only time they come to me is when they want something (like books, papers, and homeworks). but if they have someting fun to do (like party or go to the movies) they will never call me or ask me... they call some other friends who dont even do them any favor.. and this makes me feel that i am only not credible.

Its not because i can not defend my self.. but i think its because i dont expect noting inturn after doing them a favor. what do u think the reason is? what should i do to be credible withn my frinds and when meeting new people?

I do think by the example that you gave that your friends do indeed take you seriously. They trust you in getting the books, and information. In today’s world information is power. However, if you want them to invite you to their social functions then you have to stop doing favors for them and give no explanation as to why. If they have a brain they will invite you to do. Negotiations sometimes are not based upon words but actions.

Ask them straight up. If they are your true friends they will begin inviting you, if they don't they weren't your friends to begin with they don't appreciate what you do for them and have been using you. You don't need friends like that. The only way to find out is to ask them straight out. Say, why don't you ever invite me to hang out with you? It is to the point, without accusation. They may not even be aware that you feel the way you do. They may just think you have a very good sense of humor, and not realize it hurts your feelings. I wouldn't tell them they hurt your feelings though, especially if your a guy. ;-)

i disagree with jcp. People are incredibly blur. Taking his course of action would only lead them to completely miss the hint and instead ostracize u more. If you want to be asked out for social gatherings, try making the first move. Invite them to a party or movie or soemthing. Maybe they just don't invite you coz they think you wouldn't want to go.
