Rosa Parks a black lady, refused to give her seat up on municipal bus and was arrested for her refusal. Civil rights activists coordinated boycotts against this bus line and others who enforced the same policy that is easily recognized today as discrimination and as such, these practices and policies are against the law.
Rosa was treated unfairly because she was asked to give her seat up because of her skin's color. That is why people boycotted the buses. To protest discrimination.

I would call it racism. Discrimination can be that, (what happened), and that could also be because she was a woman.
