I have an 1899 penny that has 5 holes punched in one side.?

They do not go all the way through the coin. What does this mean (what could they be from?). What is the value of this coin?

The coin is considered damaged and has little value. Some one just was bored and put holes in it.

You didn't state where the penny is from. But that doesn't matter because with the 5 holes in it, it's only worth a penny.

The value of this coin is 1cents. Because of the holes in it is worthless.
