I don't know the specific practice of the Taliban, but it is probable they adhered to traditional Sunni law, which allows up to four wives at any given time, and also permits concubines.

Islam limits the numbers of wives to five. In order to have five wives, a man must have the appropriate means of caring for all five women equally. I would assume that the fundamentalist form of Islam that the Taliban practices adheres to these rules. There is a lot of information about Islam and the Taliban out there and this is probably the worst place to be looking.

I'm sorry it is four wives (wikipedia). I told you this was the worst place to learn about Islam.

Who cares, why be so selfish and take more than one wife. Can a wife have more than one husband, of course not so why should a husband be allowed. Just because the Koran had be interpreted by a crazy man with a crazy view, and the actual interpretation has nothing to do with the crap going on now.

IMate is wrong.
Islam allows a man to marry in twos, threes, and fours but if you cant do justice to either Marry Only ONE.

This is the Islamic Rule. We can assume that the Talibs stuck to it. Perhaps!

I think they did and still do allow temporary marriages which allow the men to cheat on their wife without sinning.

Watch this, (it is pretty disgusting) all the way through. This is just one of the many reasons I support the war on terror.
