For starters, I don't *hate* kids -- that would just be weird. I just don't have any interest in them. I'm both awkward and indifferent around kids. Their behaviors seem repetitive to me and I tend to quickly lose interest and my eyes glaze over to something else. And I'm so far off from the other women who FLOCK to carriages to ooo and gooo over babies. They're kinda cute, ya, but uhh ... whatever, you know?

Some important details I'd prefer not to leave out:
I'm a 23 year old female.
No ounce of maternal intincts have kicked in yet, and I do not expect them to.
Contrary to what you may think, I'm NOT a bitter hag, but rather, I'm exceptionally happy in my life right now.
My opinion on the matter will not change.
My two sisters are just like me.

I'd just like some insight into what most men think about this. =) Thanks!

I'm the same way. I do not like kids/babies AT ALL. They drive me insane if I am around them for more then 30 minutes, and I definitely do not ever want to have any kids. I get really annoyed with people who tell me, "oh don't worry, you're young, you will want kids later." Yeah? I've been this way ever since I can remember. You should see me around children, I feel so awkward. I can't even be around pregnant ladies for long. Just the way I am. Freaks me out completely.

I need a career to make me happy, not babies. I know a lot of guys who think the same way, it's usually women who want the babies I find. Plus it's your body, your choice. Ultimately, the woman is the one who decides as she has to go through with almost a year of changes.

It definitely happens. I have a friend who has a two year old little girl from a previous relationships and she's now been dating someone for 9 months. I also have a male friend who recently got engaged to a woman who has a 4 year old little boy. In fact, my own boyfriend was engaged to someone who had kids when he was younger, and the kids did not affect the relationship too much. I think it depends on the man though, some men like the idea of a ready made family, others don't like the idea of helping raise someone else's kid. But all men are different :)

First we are humans and do not have instincts. My second thought was something was wrong with you but I am wrong there. You probably do not want marriage so wanting children is probably not a problem. OK< there is nothing wrong with you or how you are. If you are happy with you then that is all that matters. You appear open and honest and most men can accept that in a woman/lady. I would not change a thing and not worry about. Peace

I'll answer this for kicks.

As a single guy, if you're not interested in having a family that's pretty much it for me. Mostly, that's because I have a son - so that's first priority. But even before I had a kid, I still wanted a family. Sex girls are fun, but you don't bring them home to mom. You just zip up and go home.

BTW, I'm a single dad thanks to a woman who has zero maternal skills and who was gracious enough to allow me to keep the baby instead of her aborting it. My son's mother has no involvement in our lives, and that's fine with me.

Women who do not like children are normally crazy about sex only.Such women I know are mostly sex starved and they are taken for a ride by men.All people may not be of the same type.Hate of kids can also be due to some psychological problems, which can be corrected.
But if you donot want to have child, there is nothing wrong. It is a personal choice.

at 23 you don't need to. Most women you're age worry more about their careers and what to do in the future. Most guys me included would not think that weird I'm 23 and I don't want kids until after I have set my own carrer path and Financialy stable.

Something happens to SOME women when they get near 30 - they wack out if they are not married and are not on a track to have children - it gets way worse when they hit like 35

I don't know why

Sounds like you should make sure that you don't have children, not a big deal. A lot of women opt not to procreate. If you don't change your feelings towards children that's fine. just don't have any and create a mess.

I see absolutely no problem with this at all. I would think most men your age would be relieved as well. As you get older, you will have to remember to discuss this issue with potential partners. Other than that

ENJOY!
