(1) Potentially entertaining board game
(2) They exist, yes, but they have no ability to conjure spirits. They're just pieces of wood or cardboard.
(3) The planchette moves via the ideomotor effect (see link)

I believe they do work but not because of the board, it's really you doing all the work. You can buy Ouija boards at toy stores, I don't think they are magical or anything. I do believe that they are a good tool to use when focusing on the supernatural though.
I think they can be dangerous but only because when people play with Ouija boards they usually focus on being scared, demons and bad spirits, because usually this is what the Ouijua board is associated with.
This is just my opinion.

Ouija boards do work, but now how most people think. They operate by way of something called the ideomotor effect. This is in essence movement caused subconsciously by one of the participants. Please see links for more information and a neat story.

Whatever you do, don't listen to the superstitious answers you will see here. These things don't open portals to "the other side" (whatever that is). Nor do they serve as an invitation for other spirits to look into your soul or haunt your house. If you think Ouija boards are magic then you will start seeing magic all over the place as a result of your interaction with one. That is all suggestibility, coincidence and confirmation bias. Please do yourself a favor and make the conscious decision not to live in a magical world.

yes they are real.

I could write a book about this, but here are some of the essentials:

there are a few things people don't realize about them.

1) If you believe in GOD, and try to stay away from evil things, then it wont work for you. If you are with other people that are "really" using one at the time you are around, then you will notice the spirit on the board will not like you, they will taunt you, or use similarities to you, to try to get you to communicate with it. after a while if you do participate with it, I'm sure it will find you to be a likable person.

2) the board and similar other black magic? tarot readings and junk like that, only work for people that open their body and soul to the evils around us.

3) it is a sin to communicate with spirits on this level, so ANY spirit you talk to will be a "bad" or evil spirit. and yes of course they will try to take the role of a loved one, or passed on friend - but if you believe your loved one to have been a good person, and worthy of heaven, they would not condone your behavior, encourage, or participate in this type of sin.

4) your mind is an open book for any spirit to browse through.
anything you know, there is a good chance the spirit will know also. (but will it know something you or anyone else in the room does not? like where you lost something a year ago was, unless the spirit has been linked to you for a prolonged time.- probably not.)

5)if you are not careful about your wording when communicating with these spirits, you could inadvertently give it permissions over you and your body.

6) if you do participate in this, you open yourself up to demonization, or even possibly a possession.
they are two different levels of a demons influence on your body and mind. , and yes even a saint can be demonized.

7) if you do fall under control or influence of a spirit you will need someone of good faith to help you rebuke this spirit.
and if this is the case it is extremely unwise to participate in any future activities like this. ( it is said that when a spirit is rebuked it will gather 7 more spirits greater than itself and wait for the next opportunity to basically destroy you.)

8) there are rules for using a board. like wiping your arms down to your hand after using it, and also wiping the board to clean the spirits off it. and some others....

9)there are a lot other things to consider when using stuff like this, too much to really get into. I hope the things I have already mentioned are enough for you to take warning.

so the best advice I can give you, is to NOT use one, or any other type of activity that utilizes evil spirits or energy.

Under the right circumstances, I do believe they can work. What they do is act as a portal to the other side. But you have to know what you're doing, because if you're not careful and don't take the proper precautions, you can find yourself with a dark spirit, but they're a tricky bunch, the dark ones, you often don't know you've got one until it's too late. I've been strongly warned against them by my spirit guides, that they're not the toy they're marketed to be. They're marketed by people in a company who don't really believe in the spirit world or that they'll really work. You have to know how to close the portal you've opened once you're done or spirits will continue to come through it long after you're done. I don't mess with them.

here is 2 thoughts on ouija boards.
1) They don't work, they are just wood and plastic. If you blindfold the participants and turn the board upside it will produce non-sense.
2) Whether they work or not, they are inviting demons and other evil spiritual beings into your life, and possibly into your body. They will not truely communicate with the dead, since this is impossible, they will simply communicate with spiritual beings posing as the deceased.

Personally, I find reason, logic and prayer, more effective than any magic, medium device, or spell.

Of course they're real. They are great fun. Go out to Toys R Us and pick one up.Get your friends together and tell some spooky stories. Then sit down and scare the heck out of each other.Someone will always push it and swear they didn't.That's basically how they work.More importantly are they dangerous? No they are harmless fun board games. Some people prone to superstitious nuttiness think they're portals to hell. That's hilarious, maybe Toys R Us should change their name to Doors N Demons.

Leave them alone. You know how if you invite someone to stay a few days with you in your home...then it's hard to get rid of them?? Wait till you invite someone invisible into your home....and you can't even call the police to make them leave. Do you want someone watching EVERYTHING you do...day and night? Don't get involved with it...it's not a game and it's not harmless..and the fun only lasts a few minutes..but the trouble lasts a long long time.
