Not in America. We value our right to choose. How can someone else tell you who to love?

In general, I'm all for parents finding the right person for their son or daughter. 1. They're more mature, 2. They know you better than anybody else does, and 3. They have your best interests in mind. Of course I'm not all for parents FORCING their children to marry the people they pick, but I'm all for parents playing matchmaker.

As for me specifically, though, I wouldn't trust my parents even to play matchmaker just because I don't exactly have the best parents in the world.

Kinda sorta...*lol*

Parents sometimes know their kids better than the kids know themselves. I especially feel that way now that I'm a 33 year old parent of a 6 year old and step-parent of a 13-year old. If your parent(s) find someone that they deem suitable for you, at least go out with him/her once.

absouletly not! my reasons are more towards the fact that the guy might turn out to be an alcoholic or a molester. your parents may never know. I also agree with the fact that you may just not like the guy/girl.

Not my parents, but if I had good parents that cared and had good biblical knowledge I would be okay with it and if the guy had the same understanding and felt the same way.
