Print it all out and take it to the police. Cyber-stalking is a criminal offense now. It is no longer a matter of he said he said/ she said. The law requires the police to investigate any threat whether or not you know who is making it. All you need to show is that you are the subject or you suspect that you are the subject of the messages which contain the threats and that frankly is self evident and if it isn't 100 percent self-evident that you are the target, the police still have to investigate because somebody is being threatened.
You do not need to find out who posted them, the police have powers to find that out and charge the perpetrator.
The law was changed some time ago after 9/11. Every ISP and internet service provider that provides e-mail services accounts has to be able to be trace the service they provide to a legal person. There is no such thing as a anonymous account through a third party anymore.
Good luck, take it to the police and rest easy, they will sort this fellow out for you.

Go immediately to the police! Take copies of the emails with you, and any other evidence. Do not allow them to blow you off! If they will not listen, go to your state police, sheriff, constable! Do not take these threats lightly! The situation could rapidly escalate, and you must make sure that you are protected. He is violating your civil right to peaceable existence, and there are federal and state laws against cyberstalking. It looks like he is real time stalking you also. Upgrade your security, move if you have to, tell everyone you are being stalked by him, and to please report suspicious activity. Have a meeting about this with your boss and recruit the companies' help in ensuring your protection. They can help by refusing to give out any information about you to anyone not in the company, have someone walk you to your car. Travel in pairs or packs, and be hyper-aware of where you are, who's around, and where someone could hide. Buff up in the gym so you can fight him off, and carry mace or a tazer. The police won't do you any good if he kills you first. They will only be there to arrest him afterwards. Stay safe and let me know how it works out.

I would most definelty call the police ASAP about it, that is not something you want to dwiddle and dwaddle about, since my friend had the very same experiance as you and she waited to call the police and the the guy that was stalking her on the interent ended up finding out where she lived and actually came to her house, but in the end it turned out ok but since your ex probably already knows where you live you should go to a friends house that he doesn't know too much about/live where he/she lives AND call the police to tell them about it! this is something i would take serious and also make sure you save all of these messages!

Most states don't have cyber stalking laws, but you can file a harassment complaint and that's usually enough to get them to leave you alone. If they continue you can then take them to court for a restraining order if you think its necessary or they're getting to be too much.

Some guy from my school is doing this, never met him.. he's on a different campus. I can't do anything about it, because what he's saying is nothing compared to what's being said to you.
I would honestly contact the police.. with proof.. save the messages and print them out to bring to the police station.. along with his information. Get that f'er in trouble, what he's doing is degrading.

Your first step is to document EVERYTHING. And do this in a professional manner, don't say things llike "This jerk I used to date is so bothering me and it's annoying". You need to make it clear you feel threatened and point out he knows you personally. Then take it to your local police station, if they do nothing get in touch with the Prosacuting Attorny in your area. Good luck. Also - if you are just upset with him and making things up (it does happen) do not make any reports because it is illegal to file false police reports...

Simply make printed copies of all the messages he has sent you. (Hopefully you still have them) Take them to the police as evidence and file a complaint. Good luck.

You should definitely talk to your local police station. Find out what the procedures are. You may be able to atleast get a restraining order that way he cannot contact you physically.

Most people who fear being attacked, would normally go to the police. Not Yahoo! Answers.
The police will be able to trace the IP with Yahoo!'s cooperation and can then bust him with chat logs and whatnot. So please, call your local police and speak with them. Have the scumbag put away.
