Stephen Colbert is comic relieve. He is the present day version of Pat Paulsen. Fun to watch, but I don't think he really wants the job.

He was going to run as both Dem. and Republican , but he thought the Republican ticket cost of 35 grand was too high , so he went with the democrat ticket in SC for 2 or 3 grand , I do not think he realized even democrats hide expenses in their own party , because he would also have to pay 20 grand to the democrat election board .....but he does not have to try because the democratic elections director said " Like hell he will get on the ticket in SC" ...or something like that I know it was a "hell no" to him as a democrat nominee , they consider him a joke , and did not want to risk him damaging the democratic party .......

I don't think he indended to to start with--but given the showing he's had in the polls, he might start taking this seriously.
You've gotta wonder--how crappy is the selection of candidates when people start preferring a comedianwho's jsut "running" as a joke?
Personally, if I were a Democrat or a Republican, that would give me pause for some serious thought!

Of course he isn't trying to win. He's only running in one state, and it's impossible to win that way. Besides, I doubt very much that he wants to be president: he isn't crazy enough to believe he's actually qualified, and he probably would have to take a significant pay cut.
Both parties in South Carolina have barred him from the ballot, so it appears his brief candidacy is over.

Like to see how that campaign reform would work with that. Equal time right?
At least then hillary would be on the network she belongs.

that's a shaggy dog tale. you're able to desire to assemble signatures and report with the election fee in each and each state to run. Technically you could desire to run in only one state yet you could desire to no longer develop into president that way.

He says he is only running in South Carolina. Is going to be funny to see him run.

Pat Paulson who was a comedian on Laugh-In ran in 68, so it is not far fetched. Useless and sill, but possible. These are serious times and a stupid distraction is not productive.
