I just excepted a job in San Antonio. The business is off 1604 and Nacogdoches Road, zip is 78247. Haven't been there to look at homes, but was wondering if anyone knows of any newer areas, with single family homes, new shopping, restruants and so forth. I would do any commute up to about 30-45 minutes. Thanks for your help!

The nicest areas in the north 1604 area area near the 281 interchange and north. The commute would only be about 15 minutes unless traffic was really bogged down. If you have children the schools on either side of 281 north of 1604 such as the Stone Oak and Encino Park areas are very nice. There is abundant shopping and new shopping going up almost daily. Restaurants in the area abound. Access to downtown is easy on 281 and access around the city on 1604 is also convienent. There are many previously owned homes in this area for sale at this time as well as new housing being built.

Welcome to the area!

That is the very close to the area that I grew up. My parents still live near there. That's a perfect area to live in!
There is shopping, restaurants, and new neighborhoods. There isn't too many new neighborhoods there, but they do exist. I think they're trying to keep it peaceful like it has been for years. As for shopping you have Wal-Mart, Rolling Oaks Mall which has: JC Penney, Dillards, Macys, and Sears, you are very close to The Forum shopping center which has tons of stores. If you want to go to the library the new Julia Yates Semes library on Judson and Nacogdoches is beatutiful. It's attached to Comanche Lookout Park. It's just a beautiful area. That is about 1 mile south on Nacogdoches.

For dining the Forum is loaded with restuarants as is Rolling Oaks Mall. Sea Island, EZs, Taco Cabana, Subway, Chilis, Macoroni Grill, and Salt Grass are some of the many restaurants near there.

You are going to work in a great are already.
