Can I magnatize this? At my school they have this thing where you put the magnate of an ignition mag of an airplane to remagnatize it. Can I use this to magnatize the cast iron oil drain plug on my car? Would this type of modification cause any problems on the car engine? Could a magnatized drain plug magnatize the oil pan of the engine as well?

Yes, it will work, but I doubt the drain plug is cast iron, FWIW.

Any time you place a magnet in contact with another ferrous metal (like the oil pan), the other metal will redirect some of the magnetic field - it becomes an extension of one of the magnet's poles. It's a very small effect, so the drain plug will still have the stronger field and pickup more iron particles (assuming that's what you're hoping for) than the pan.

They sell drain plugs with magnets and magnets you can put inside the pan too.

Most drain plugs on new cars have a magnet on them from the factory.

If it is actually cast iron, which is doubtful, it will not hold magnetism. It will stick to a magnet but contains too much carbon to retain it.
