My first thought is mange, but there could be many other possibilities. I think it would be best to just get her to the vets. If it is mange, it should be treated by a vet. Also, you can get mange from your dog, so you'll definitely want to get it treated by a vet ASAP. Again, it could be something else, but mange is my first thought.

it depends on the type of dog you have-- but idon't think that's normal. your dog could have some sort of skin condition or disease. i would got to the vet ASAP to take care of it so it doesn't get worse or spread.
i would also check to make sure there are no bumps, bites, or redness on the area, cuz if he got bit by a harmless bug or fleas, then he could have itched the skin too much to make it come off. chances of that are rare, cuz he'd have to itch it A LOT, but it's your baby so it never hurts to check. =] but def. go to the vet. best of luck!

is it in a circular shape? it may be ringworm, which is a fungus. if it is, it will spread. usually i tell people to use any over the counter medicine for athlete's foot, but being right there by the mouth would be difficult to treat without the dog licking off the medicine. please check with your vet.
