Hey all, i'm nearing high school, and i'm looking for a professional grade trumpet, and i was looking for suggestions. I'm looking at a standard shcilke Bb trumpet, and a B&S, but i'm not sure. So i'm going to let you tell me.

As a long-time trumpet player, I will try to help. Bach Stradivarius are at the top of the line. Conn makes great horns, too. If you have a fair amount of money to use, I had the pleasure of plating a Conn Constelation for three months! AWESOME!

Here is the best hint I can give you: DON'T just go and buy a new horn. Play it - for at least 30 minutes, to try it out. (Remember, a horn has to "warm up", just like you do!)

It's all about trial and error, and finding one that is right for YOU! I wish you the best of luck!

Nearing high school, does that mean like 8th grade? I would wait a couple years before buying a top-end custom trumpet, as they are a huge investment. I bought a Conn Connstellation in the fall of Freshman year and still have it. I am now a junior who is going into music-ed and purchased a Schike S22L. I think entering high school is a little too early to spend that much money on a Custom Horn. If you are planing to go into music, as a career then I would consider it down the road but if you're not then Conn makes great professional instruments for way less money. My Conn was like $2500.00 less than my Schilke and its still a great instrument.

As a band director, I recommend the Bach 180-43g trumpet. This horn is great for the budding professional. The link below will lead you to a 45 day trial period, no tax, and financing if you need it.

I refer this link to ALL of my trumpet students.

You can also enter in other varitions of 180-43 S (silver) or just 180-43 (lacquer)

Good luck.

You can compare other trumpets from InstrumentQuote.com. I use this site for all of my purchases. And...if you contact them, they will help you.
