y intercept is easy it is when x=0 so y=-6
x intercept is where y=0 so
0=x^2+2x-6
using the quadratic formula
x=-1+sqrt 7
x=-1-sqrt 7
so there is two y intercepts

Use the quadratic formula:

x = { -2 +/- sqrt (2^2 - 4*1*-6)}/ 2*1

= (-2 +/- sqrt 28)/2 = (-2 +/- 2sqrt7)/2 = -1 +/- sqrt 7

Answers:

-1 + sqrt 7, and -1 - sqrt 7
