What do Microsoft do to repair the RROD? I'm Half-Way across the US, And Technicians here are offering Repairs for only $40. Is it safe? And am I guaranteed not to get it again? What parts do they change?

lol, MS does nothing, they send you a xbox that has been refurbished. So if you get your self a Box and it fails, there is a greater chance of it failing again then before. You will NEVER be guarenteed, but some moders have strapped **** to their boxes (fans, heatsinks) and they dont get it again, so if you dont mind spending a few more hundred dollars, then by all means so it, otherwise..you are screwed.

You will probably lose your warranty if someone else other than Microsoft messes with it. Send it to Microsoft and they will fix it for free. All 360s (even the ones from launch) have a 3 year warranty to fix the RROD

Your warranty will become void if you proceed to take it to these other "technicians", which probably have no real qualifications to stand behind.

If you send it off, you should get the label they send you and get a blank box, ppl who send their boxs that they came in tend to get stolen. chances are you will get some one else's xbox back.

I sent mine back and they sent me another junk one, so good luck
