So here it goes: I used to work for a company where my immediate supervisor would make antisemitic/racist comments. I always felt really uncomfortable but because my friend helped me get the job and asked me not to "make waves", I never said anything to HR or the CEO.
I have kept in contact with many of the people that work at the company and recently found out that an "anonomous" survey was sent out. In it, my friend indicated that she was uncomfortable about the comments. Within a week, she was basically told to "shape up or ship out."
I feel so angry about this and I know it's illegal. But what can someone do about this situation? The comments were not directed toward me at the time and they were not intimidation. Yet, the company tolerates this woman's racism/antisemitism. What can a person do in this situation? Is there a government organization to contact?

Yes, there are organizations. Try the ACLU to find out what steps you need to take to stop this the right way. This isn't the 1930's for heaven sake. You don't have to put up with that, and you shouldn't have to take it for the sake of NOT making waves. She's not professional enough to have a job in supervision. I'm not saying to storm into the HR office ranting and raving, but this woman needs a reality check. There's nothing wrong with saying to her..."Please stop making those remarks. They just don't sit well with me." If she gets huffy, THEN go to HR.
By the way, it's NOT illegal unless she's stopping you from getting a promotion, or a raise, or threatening your job. It's just unprofessional and CAN be considered a violation of your rights. If she makes jokes in bad taste...she needs to have it brought to her attention that it isn't appreciated. If she continues...you need to take further steps.

They're extraordinary. ds-a million is distortion, ds-two is rapid distortion, and many others so forth. They're extraordinary tones. To a person who hasn't been gambling lengthy or is not a tone freak, it's not relevant.

If you or your friend gets fired you can file a lawsuit about it. If things aren't that far along yet, you can kindly ask her to please stop it.

TAPE RECORD HIM ! CONTACT THE EEOC IN YOUR AREA . GET A CELL PHONE THAT RECORDS AS WELL . CONTACT THE US FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DEPT OF LABOR , THE ACLU , CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION , THE NAACP , CONTACT YOUR CONGRESSMAN, SENATOR ETC ...... FIGHT , FIGHT AND CONTACT THE MEDIA !
