All the previous answers are great but it all depends on the person. I'm the kind of person that just listens and takes notes. I study for Semester Exams for about 30 minutes and make an A. Just depends on the person.

In addition to all the above good suggestions, I would also suggest this: after you think you have it learned, go away from it for a day or so. Then try to recite it. You will have forgotten some of it; re-learn those parts. Things forgotten then re-learned will stick with you longer.

All the other answers are gr8. Want to add one more. Try a mnemonic device to aid memory. Amendment #1 something like
1 to talk (lst amend. freedom of speech). Good luck.

Read one of them over and over and over again, until you can almost recite it by memory alone. Ask a family member to quiz you. Keep doing it with each one. It's a *****, but you wont forget them for months this way.

post it wherever you go...
post it on the bathroom wall also...
post it at the ceiling so that when you want to relax and before you close your eyes, all you could see is the note itself...
when you go somewhere else, make a handy note so that if there is any dull moment, then all you could do is to get that note and memorize it again...
