Here is the deal
1) Grossman is a free agent after this year. He will be gone as they know he is not a star.
2) Griese is a backup. That is all he is. This is what he was signed as. Him leading the league in interceptions despite not starting the year at QB proves he is not the answer.
3) Orton won 10 games in 2005, but was benched when Grossman came back from injury. He was looked at as the most improved player in training camp this year.
Griese will start a few more games, then they will go with Orton to see if he in fact can play. It will tell them:
1) If Orton is a future starter
2) If Orton is a solid backup
3) If they need to dump Orton

Griese is also on the line as he has proved he can have good games and bad. They will give him a few more starts to see if he should be a backup or not come next year.

As far as next year - depends on Orton. But they will go after a free agent. Not a top guy, but a "servicable" guy.

Most denfily the Chicago Bears are having problems at Quarterback. They started the year with Ross Grossman, and they have benched Grossman, and now starting Brian Griese at Quartback, and the only QB that they have on thier team is Kyle Orton. But maybe it is time that the Chicago Bears bring a new Quartback to town. No matter how they will get him, even if they have to trade Rex Grossman. Evne if they have to draft a Quarterback, or pick one upo in Free Agency, and it is also good to make a big splash in Free Agency. And they have Brian Griese signed to a 5 year contact, and thy did that in 2006. So how in the world to you trade him, so it will either have to be Grossman or Orton to go, if it comes to down to they have to trade for a Quarterback, it will be a mistake on the Bears part to overlook Quarterback.

The Bears have never had a good quarterback, even in their super bowl win,it was a combination of Walter payton running and the defense holding the opposition,so going by their past history on drafting quarterbacks, don't expect any one better than Grossman and Griese

In ideal world. Rex Grossman will not be resigned, the bears should keep Griese as the starting QB or get another veteran and still draft a rookie QB with their number one pick, once he is ready he can take over...I am for drafting rather free agency, although Derek Anderson looks good, but I think the bears should spend the money resigning Briggs. This is of course in ideal world... not Jerry Angelo's world.

I know for a fact we will not draft a QB in the first round, they will give Orton a shot before they try that again, they could pursue McNabb, only if the Eagles cut him after the season, and trade for one no way if they did he would probably suck cause this is just how the Bears are, they've been doing this crap for years and I don't see it changing anytime soon cause the McCaskey's don't plan on selling the team and they are not gonna stop being cheap.

All my Bear fan friends think Kyle Orton is the answer to all their problems, but considering he started the season behind Grossman and Griese, I have a hard time believing he's any good.

Apparently you are unaware that the Bears have BOTH Griese and Grossman. What would the Bears do with another quarterback?

PS: "most denfily??????????"

I think they should put Rex back in as well. He wasn't just the problem. The whole team was stumbling. He was just an easy target to go after.I think he is an alright QB who has the talent just not the team to help him in showing it.
