For 5 or 6 year i have been addicted to oxycontin, the problem is i keep going back to the opiates after i quit, the withdrawal is long and nasty and after the physical withdrawal has left it is like my brain is in a state of depression where i care about nothing, i am so lazy i cant even cook or clean, cant eat cant sleep, i am basically useless, i would be alright if this lasted maybe a week or two but like i said months and months. it is literally like i have depleted all of the dopamine in my brain permanently so therefore i live a vicious cycle day to day, recently i went on the methadone program again. I i am on a low dose.I want to have children , my doc said that if i am this low it is likely that my baby wont have withdrawal at all and i ran into a new mother at 40 mls whose baby was fine and went home the next day after born, does anyone have any experience with quiting or having baby on meth, thanks

Try taking lower doses. Say you take like 6 a day, try only 3 a day. It can be hard. If you want to have a baby, i'd absolutly suggest nothing having one until your addiction is gone. Your baby wil be the one suffering and you don't want your newborn to have to suffer for your mistakes. Just because one baby was born healthy. Doesn't mean yours will be. You should get some help. Try re-hab or a therapist. Even hypnotism? But don't have a baby until your clean. You won't be able to take care of that child if your constantly lazy. How are you going to tend to him/her?

THINK ABOUT IT

I think you have more problems than you realize. You should not put an innocent life thru this. You are still suffering from addiction and will probably have the continued addiction problems for the rest of your life and no child should ever be put into the middle of the situation. A pregnancy is not the answer to your troubles. I believe you see pregnancy as a cure or a fix. Its not.
Please re consider. If you get pregnant, its not all about you anymore. Its about an innocent child.
I think you should consider permanent sterilization. Have your tubes tied and get this crazy pregnancy idea out of your head.

Getting over an addiction is hard man. U want to have children, so u want to be a good parent, well that isnt fair to do to them, so u have to do something before you have them.
If you want them to grow up strong do it for them.
You are stronger than oxycotin. Dont let it ruin your dreams.
