do you think its possible to become a real, successful superhero?

i mean, if somebody was willing to spend enough money, and was trained well enough in how to fight, AND found a crime-infested city, do you think he/she could make a difference? i know that there are the "real-life" superheroes, that are little more than costumed crossing guards, and there are the policemen and the firemen/doctors etc. and i respect that. im just wondering, if somebody was willing to put on some tights, and put themseves in danger like that, how do you think they would fare? im just curious to see some people's takes. thoughts please!

The costumed outsider COULD make a difference to a few people, BUT they will eventually have to operate outside the law as a vigilante. That creates certain problems. Police officers and investigators are restrained from doing certain things by the oaths they have taken, and we are pretty much all familiar with the stuff they are NOT allowed to do. Who would keep a "superhero" honest and fair? Without some sort of restraint, what keeps the superhero from becoming cop, investigator, judge, jury, and executioner all in one?

Power corrupts. Perhaps that is why there are no "real" superheros: humans can't be trusted with special abilities like motorless flight, super strength, x-ray vision, and etc.
