PayPal is a great tool for buyers and sellers. It costs you nothing to use it to purchase; sellers pay fees, I believe 2%.
You have to verify your bank account, and then the money comes right out of there. Or, you can tie it to a credit card.
I use my PayPal account to buy things on ebay and at various other websites.

Hi! I've been using Paypal for about 5 years now, and it's great. The way it works, you will need a checking account and a credit card to open the Paypal account. If you sell items and people send you money- a small fee is deducted out of it, what is left sits you your account. You can then use it to pay for items and there is no fee for sending money. If you have a 0 balance in your Paypal, the money is withdrawn out of your checking account, or from your credit card (which is used only as a backup.) If you want to take money out of Paypal, you can transfer it to your checking account without fee, takes about 4 business days. Hope that helps.

Paypal is a company that functions like a merchant account, in that it functions as a way for potential buyers and sellers to transact business for a fee. It is owned by Ebay now. I have used it many times and I like the service.
This is a warning - once you have a paypal account remember it is attached to your bank account. Never open up email from ebay or paypal and use the link in the email to go to your account - no matter how official it looks. Hackers use this kind of deception to steal your passwords. Always use the independent web url to go to your account.

PayPal is free.
No charge for registering and using it to purchase items on Ebay[ I love Ebay]
You register and use it almost as an "entension" of your checking or savings account.
They are authorized to deduct the stated amount from your account.
Does not cost a thing.
They have recently offered another service -Paypal- to be able to transfer funds from one banking acocunt, to another.
Example. My son lives 450 miles away. If we are both Paypal customers, I can 'send' money from my bank account, to his bank account.
Very easy.
I suppose Paypal is reimbursed by the sellers on Ebay, and Overstock. But I am not sure.
I only know for me to pay the vendors on Ebay it is free, for the buyer.
I have used it for years and enjoy the freedom it brings to purchase online.
Good luck.

> How do you add money
You authorize a direct transfer from your checking account. After that, it takes three business days before the money shows up in your PayPal account [interest ripoff].
