dont be so biased!
I work in the media, i read the news every day(night actually, before you read it)
The media grab any bit of public display of failure or embarrasment and run with it if it looks popular. Dont you recall last week when they had a go at rudd for picking his nose? Dont be so absent minded, I though Aussies had a longer memory than just one week.
As for the polls, if you live in a safe seat, you most likely wont be rang up and polled on your opinions, only those who live in certain seats and depending on the swing required to lose that seat will be polled because that is where the main effect on the election will be. The pollsters already know who are the lib/labor supporters by the history of elections in the area, they already know what people think who live in my area for example, i live in a safe labor seat and never has the liberal party won that seat, the pollsters know this and they are not going to ring me to ask my opinion, they already know the answer from this area.

I presume that you are young, and not had the experience of living under a Liberal party before the current Liberal party, well those media people have, and its those questions that they ask of the Australia Liberal Party and not getting a honest answer from them, when did the Australian Labour Party stuff up.
From what years to you talk from, if its the earlier years when John Howard was treasurer under Malcom Fraser and left a $ 9.6 Billion dollar hole for the Hawke & Keating Labour Party and also inheriting a 22% rate rise from the Malcom Fraser & John Howard Liberal Party its no wonder that the media are crucifying the Austaralin Liberal Party when their own record is not so perfect as they would like people to believe.
You say that the labour Party stuff up , from what year , now don't get me wrong or the wrong impression, why did the liberal party block supply of money in the Senate during 1973 - 1975, the liberal Party did this, and the Liberal Party got back in power, and then left as I said a big empty hole for the Labour Party to fill, $ 9.6 Billion dollars to fill seeing that, what could they do except tell the people that the Australian Treasurer Bank was in fact empty,
Inheriting that from the then treasurer John Howard ,so there choices to be made, hard choice that were going to hurt , and hurt they did , it took a while for some othe policies to implemented but they did get it done , and it took them from 1983 to 1996 to get them in place,
Meanwhile it was hurting a lot of people then,Labour got all these in place for the current govenment, but when the current govenment keeps harping about their record, their record is not so perfect as they would like you to believe,
So yes I understand where the media is coming from when as you say crucifying this current Australian Liberal Party Govenment, it is because of the lies that they have told.

The Howard government are crucifying themselves, not the media. obviously lots of people except you, take the media polls thats why Labour is ahead in the polls. The media are just showing the public the truth on the now government. And its about time

This one's easy...Liberals are making heaps of mistakes and promoting a fear campaign.
When you have Abbott apologising repeatedly, Turnball not knowing if the Libs want to sign koyot or not, Howard lying, Costello showing he is not the economic wiz kid he has convinced people he is, you are going to get shown up!!
Big whole are starting to form in this government and it's is slowly falling apart.
Also the media realise that Howard is running alomost the same campaign he did in 2004. Its negative, predictable and boring!!!!!
Labor are simply out there promoting the future of this country! They could be out there going for broke on the Liberals lies, broken promises, anti-worker, decietful attitude, but they are not. They are focusing on what good about themselves and this country.

Did you not just see all the coverage on Tony Abbot's stuff ups?
But the press in Australia is conservative--you know that. Why should you express surprise that they are trying to a hatchet job on Rudd and Labor just as they did with Latham three years ago?
Cheers.

Which Medium are you not listening to? Seems fairly balanced to me. It isn't just "stuff ups" one should be paying attention to but a proven record of honesty ,or not; ( children overboard; Tampa;weapons of mass destruction; David Hicks; they are just the ones that escaped Govt. coverup!) good & proper management not just global, good luck economics.
Yes, I have taken part in polls on several occasions through different sections of the Media.

Just a word ---the word "Labour" in the "Australian Labor Party" is spelt the American way, not the British English way.
The Australian LABOR Party represents the LABOUR masses.

But they are. It's just that the public don't seem to care about it. The ear wax and the strip club are classic examples.
