They could. And they also may not. No way to get a good grasp on what's what just yet, but right now the BJs are listening to the coach and so they are winning some hockey games. As LITY earlier pointed out they 'haven't really beaten a good team so far' but, I will add they have beaten teams they need to beat to get a playoff spot.

Totally... especially the way they started out so far this year. Being a avid Jacket fan the past 7 years have been awful and seeing THIS team step on the ice as of October 7th, it's amazing... even if they don't make the playoffs, but they put up the fight and have that dedication needed to be a great team!

I will say that they will make it in the 6th 7th or 8th spot. Ken Hitchcock has revitalized the Blue Jackets, who were a lazy unmotivated bunch of guys. They have the talent to do it (Rick Nash, David Vyborny, Pascal Leclaire, Jiri Novotny) and they are a young enough team to be a force for years to come. But i must say playoffs will depend on Leclaire who has some of the quickest pads in the league and has the talent to do it. Though the central division has been thought of as weak in the new NHL, this year should see 3 of the Central Division teams in the playoffs. It will be the Red Wings, Blue Jackets and one of St.Louis or Chicago

I think the only 3 teams that are sure to be in the playoffs in the West are Detroit, and regardless of slow starts, San Jose and Anaheim... that leaves FIVE spots up for grabs and I think the B'Jackets will compete for one of them. The only real pretenders in the West are Edmonton, L.A., and Phoenix.

I'll go with yes as long as they stay healthy. They have a great coach and a really good team, they just need everyone to play the whole year.

Yes - barring injuries. Right now, Leclair and Nash ARE the Jackets. If either of them go out - forget it.

At this rate, sure. Hitchcock is the reason why the Jackets are doing so good so far.

TB, help me up.

I'm sold on them slipping into a 7th or 8th spot in the west.

Alright, here I go!

HOP! I just jumped on their bandwagon....
