I have plenty of those. some make sense others I can't explain.
for example the sound of the traffic outside my work ( and only there), reminds me of the sounds from a hotel room in bolonia, Italy.
I could never figure out why.

Oh so many... there is a tree that has flowers that take me back to my first year of marriage, pregnant with our first child... it was a great time... There was one of these trees on the way to the house we lived back then. Husband says they're called enchanted flowers...
Also the smell of home baked bread... takes me back to my family home and my late mom...
Now words and phrases are a problem for me, because I will hear them and remember a part of a song (which I don't always know so well) instantly. In class, that happens all the time and I have to keep quiet sometimes in order not to annoy the students with my memories... lol...

Yes...there are some that I don't quite understand. For instance...a few times I have seen something seemingly innocuous, which triggered an sense of intense fear and disgust. I don't have any idea why.
Then there is my disgust for a certain color...it is kind of a salmon-y pinkish color...I hate that color because when I was little, I was visiting my grandfather, and he let me keep drinking this fruit flavored soda (of that color) to the point that it made me positively ill. Ick!
Then there are also certain words that cause VERY powerful emotions for no know reason.
Isn't that strange??

The smell of babies. Whenever I hold a newborn baby in my arms, I remember the moment I first held my own daughter for the first time. :)

Also, the smell of the wet ground after it rains, and the smell of freshly mowed grass ... I feel so happy when I smell these two smells. I just love them. It's like the smell of new life, new beginnings, so fresh and clean.
