Of course that isn't weird. You are definitely not alone. Take me for an example I like to watch baseball but i don't play at all.
It doesn't matter, maybe you just enjoy the game, yet you don't have the time yet or you are too busy or you don't want to learn to play the game.
It is indeed exciting to watch the eager players fight through and battle against one another, trying their best.
I have seen so many matches where a lot of non-expecting and cool things occur! It is really shocking.
I know many people that love to watch tennis, but don't play the game.
It is totally not weird, understandable, and you aren't alone!
Keep on watching tennis!

You're not weird for that. You appreciate the game. I like to watch golf, but I suck at it so I don't play it. I did try to get better at it, but it just wasn't for me.
As for tennis, I can watch it sometimes. I think the scoring system is a little ridiculous and the games go on for too long because of it. A volley can only be SO interesting for a short period of time.

Brandon

That's why you're called "tennis fan!" No, you are like thousands of fans who love to watch the "ballet" called "tennis." The highest PayPerView event on TV is boxing...do most viewers box? NO!
Who doesn't want to watch these fit and balanced physical geniuses playing chess with a little fuzzy ball? Tennis has it ALL!
It is exhilarating to watch Nadal diving for an impossible short ball and hitting a winner with the flip of his PopEye left arm. It is astounding to see Federer stay calm while hitting a passing shot over the high part of the net. It doesn't take personal experience to see that it is incredible athleticism in action. And that's just the physical part.
As a tennis player, when I watch, I get butterflies in my stomach when my "player" is down 40-15 and I even lift my arms as if to hold my racquet when I want my "player" to go up to the net. I breathe in and out with Sharapova as she gets her mind in the game. And when the match is over, I have to stretch and relax as if I had actually played.
Do other people feel that way?

Yeah I love tennis and I also play it, but you don't have to play a sport to love watching it. It's like with me and football, I like watching football but I don't play it.

I've been playing tennis since I was 5... and I LOVE watching it. So for me, yeah, I do play and watch. But my entire family (mom, dad, sister, brothers, aunts, uncles, etc.) has NO CLUE how to play, but they all love watching it with me. We even have big 2-day parties (like a Superbowl party, but BIGGER!) for the finals of Wimbledon and the U.S. Open...

My best advice for you is to continue playing football this upcoming season. At this point, it is not worth it for you to quit on your high school varsity football team. Just work hard and perform very well in practice every day. In addition, what you need to do this (and every) summer is eat healthy, exercise by doing weight lifting, and either jogging or going for a long run every day. If you do these things, you will get faster, stronger, and into better shape, which will greatly improve your chances of becoming a successful, top notch high school varsity football player, who could go on to play college football. By the way, your chances of playing college football depend on your performance in football during your junior, and especially senior, year of high school. If you perform very well in football during your final 2 years of high school, you will greatly improve your chances of getting recruited to play for a college football program in the future.
