One Christmas when I was about 5 or 6 we went on a 4 hour car trip to visit my grandmother down in south Florida. This was back in the early 1950's before television was available to the masses. There were no cell phones also.We did not realize that too many of my mothers sisters had all gotten the same idea. There were so many people it was very crowded. This caused a shortage of beds at bedtime that first night when we all arrived without knowing there would be so many people. My grandmother lived in a very small country town that had no motels for travelers to stay in.We all made pallets on the floor with lots of blankets and slept the best we could. Since there was no TV at this time the adults enjoyed playing cards till late into the night while they talked and visited together. All the kids were put to bed early with the lights turned out so as not to cause a high light bill for my grandmother. As it turned out,,I was forced to share a bed with my FEMALE cousin from up north ,,,,who was already at the age of 14. She was already sexually ACTIVE at this early age. I was not. I was just too young to know about sex. Now,,,here,,,,is WHY this is my favorite holiday memory!!!! She introduced me to MANY if not ALL,,,of the wonderful joys of sex! I will not go into any further details here because Yahoo would just not allow it to print out. This one Christmas Night,,,,I got the BEST gift that ANY boy could ever dream of getting!!!!!!!!! She is STILL a really beautiful woman.!!!!! I saw her last month for the first time in over 40 years. I am 62 years old now. This is really a TRUE story! The BEST parts of which you did not get to hear yet! Her DAUGHTER once won a MISS AMERICA contest and her GRAND DAUGHTER was a FINALIST there once.!!!! Classic beauty!!!!

My favorite is Christmas eve. Our church doesn't have a midnight service but we go to the service around 6:00 PM. My group of church BFFs exchange little gifts after the service. On the way home we drive around looking at Christmas lights. Once we get home we have holiday snacks, egg nog and Tom and Jerrys while we open our gifts. Then we watch a couple of Christmas movies while we enjoy our new gifts. By that time the kids are ready for bed so it's time to fill the stockings and put out the Santa gifts. The kids always put out cookies and eggnog for Santa and he always leave a thank you note. And we don't leave out the reindeer. Rudolph gets an apple and the others get carrots. This involves taking bites out of the apple and carrots then tossing them out in the front yard. We leave Christmas music playing and the tree lit up all night.

For me, the very best holiday, is Easter! When I stop and
think about life, where would I be if Jesus hadn't risen from the dead and given me the chance to believe in Him?! I know
all about the questions about Easter, but also know that when
I accepted the Lord into my heart, this feeling came over me
that everything was going to be all right, no matter what happens to me. I can look at the beautiful creations coming
to life again -- and they all point to Jesus! It's happening all around us--the prophesies of the world. Newness!--Jesus!
Rebirth!--Jesus! A dandelion!--Jesus! I thoroughly enjoy
Easter.

The holiday I enjoy best is Christmas. Just the joy of being around family and friends, and being with people you love, and love you in return. It's just so exciting getting a Christmas tree, and decorating it. and counting down the days until Christmas day. It's so cold, we get a reason to cuddle, to bundle up, wear scarves, and furry jackets, drink hot chocolate<3, sit around the fire place and just talk and have fun. Looking at the presents under the tree, and just wondering what's inside of them, anticipating to open them. It's just so wonderful (:

Thanksgiving: Good food, no heavy expectations for this holiday and no weeks of anticipation like Christmas. Plus, a long weekend afterwards.
