when you get something in the mail saying you are pre-approved for a loan, I know you don't necessarily get the highest amout but are you guaranteed something

There are usually some caveats in the small print.

"Pre-approved" generally means "until we check your credit and if we find something in your credit that we don't like we can still say No!!"

When I receive information in the mail the fine print often indicates that what or if you receive any monies your credit will be the first consideration. Read the fine print, call the company offering you the loan and make all of your inquires..

VA loans are very slow As long as you did not lie on your application, it should be approved. Good Luck
