What do you think of the name Jasper for a baby boy? Any ideas for a middle name?

The ghost is called [C]asper, and the movie is so old most of the schools kids in the 2010s likely won't have seen it.

Jasper is a perfectly ordinary male name, if not commonly used. Casper is the dutch version. Not a dog name like Skippy. Not a 'unique' name like Jayden/Brayden whatever.

It's a great name! One of those quirky-cool classics that's just unfamiliar enough to be completely intriguing, but not unusual enough to be thought of as an odd choice. ;)
I've been seeing it tossed around quite a bit more frequently as of late, so I'd be a bit wary that it might be catching on (even in the states! LOL), but I don't think it's destined for overuse or anything. Just getting a bit more attention recently, which isn't always a bad thing. ;) It could even be a positive, since others previously unfamiliar will be more likely to react with "Oh! My sister/cousin/neighbor considered that name!" rather than an obviously confused "You mean like the ghost?" (LOL I've seen it).
All in all, definitely a stunning option. ;)

First - as many folks already pointed out, the ghost's name is CASPER. If anyone teases him about it, he can handily point out how wrong they are and humble them right then and there.
Second, someone said it's a pet's name. Well, I had a dog named Jasper. I named him after a white dog I had as a toddler named Casper. Jasper was the best, smartest, most incredible dog ever, and I still grieve for him after 25 years (like Mr Bojangles...). But I still don't think of it as a pet name. I LOVE it for a boy/man. It was on my list for my last baby, which turned out to be a girl. It's such a strong, earthy name (a semi-precious stone) without being overused or weird. And don't worry if some people say they don't like it. NO name is loved by everyone.
My top male pick for our last baby was Jonas Benjamin, a close match to Jasper. It's worth considering, too. If I had it all to do again, I would definitely put Jasper closer to the top - go for it.

I think it is really good, i only know one person named Jasper so it's definately not common like all the Kadens and Jaydens i've been seeing. Hmm.. a middle name would be best left to one syllable like John, but something like Michael or Thomas would be great too! Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will be perfect!! Jasper is such a strong name, you could really have just about any middle name and it would sound good. Good luck!

I think it's cool, it sounds kinda outdoorsy but cute. Something similar would be Jackson or Jaxon, maybe Justin.
