This guy truely is a moron. I mean he wants money that even players like Corey Maggette, Ron Artest or Manu Ginobli aren't making. I hope if this piece of garbage does come back, he doesn't even get $1 million. He should be happy someone picked him up from whatever jungle he came out of. Hell, he should be happy he is getting dollars and not in peanuts and bananas (Sorry for my racist rants. This guy just pisses me off to no end. Even Barbosa, who is way more talented, didn't try to impose his will on Phoenix).

Unfortunately, we all have to realize that the NBA is about the money first. Why wouldn't Varejao demand huge money? He was an integral part of the Cavs run to a conference championship last year. Look at they money Nene got to be a sub in Denver. Varejao's demands were obviously over-the-top, but if another team pays him $9 or $10 million per year, and he continues to improve at the rate he was last year, who will be the idiot, him or the Danny Ferry?

The only reason he didn't get the money he wanted was the Cavs already overpaid for Ilgauskas, Gooden, Hughes, Damon Jones, and Eric Snow. Is it Varejao's fault that Ferry made those moves? Ferry is to blame here - not because he didn't give Varejao want he demanded, but because he put the organization in a position that they couldn't give Varejao what he demanded.

I don't blame Varejao for wanting top dollar. Who reading this wouldn't want to be overpaid if you could force, cajole, beg, or negotiate some dumb sap into doing it?

Idiot or not, the guy is a pretty good blue-collar player a la Dennis Rodman. He's got a nose for loose balls and ability to put back missed shots from his teammates. He also defends well and could bang bodies with the big boys inside the paint. A nice player to have on a team.

He averages 6 points and 6 rebounds and wants $10 million dollars a year for his services. I'm glad that the Cleveland Cavs' GM Danny Ferry is not willing to sign him for that amount. It's ridiculous.

lol. yesss i agree. he did just about NOTHING to help the cavs last year. some boards...flops...made a CRAZY-in a bad way-shot attempt in the closing seconds in the finals. there r plenty more bball players that r better than him n getting less money.
