One of our local radio stations has begun playing nothing but Christmas music! Would you listen?
I just had to check it out to see if it was true.... and it is! I'm just glad it's not on my presets.

I woke up this morning to Christmas music and I am now avoiding that radio station! I like Christmas music, but not until AFTER Thanksgiving.
I saw someone tonight with their red and green holiday lights on and I wanted to go remove one bulb from every string.......bah humbug! Seriously, this entire Christmas season has gotten way out of control. I saw stuff in the stores the first part of October.

I have heard Christmas music in the background of one
commercial. And I have heard another commercial talk about
the holidays, as if they've already begun. I have long suspected that if retailers had their way, they would be all
decorated by November 1st for Christmas. I know they hire
either before or just after Halloween, since I was hired for
Christmas help before Halloween on two occasions. We
had to start checking inventory for Christmas decorations
and start pricing them. There was always an area for setting
out decorations for people to start buying right after Halloween. There are those who buy collectibles each year,
as well as those who just want to buy boxes of new ones.
I wouldn't be surprised if the stores are already playing their
holiday music. It does tend to get people more into the shop-
ping and buying early spirit, to get gifts stores might run out of the closer it gets to the holiday. I might listen, but I don't
think I'd be singing along. I want to get through Thanksgiving
first. And the song for that season is, "Over the River and
through the woods, to Grandmothers' house we go................!

Christmas season gets earlier and earlier every year. It starts (in the stores) before Halloween which is over 2 months before Christmas. That means Christmas season lasts over 1/6th of the year. No wonder people are so glad to see Dec. 26!

I always loved Christmas music and it felt like the season was starting when I heard my first Christmas song, but it's just to early. I agree that we need to enjoy Thanksgiving first. My husband was saying today how quickly they replaced all the Halloween shelfs at the store with even more Christmas items.

I saw on the news ,The Bay store opened it's Christmas window display today and the reporter looked like he was in a snow storm. ( soap flakes) They think that we are mindless and will run right out and start spending for Christmas. I like tha hustle and bustle of last minute shopping anyway. My husband and I don't even exchange gifts anymore . We have everything we want or need. We do like do order out or go out for dinner. It's a real treat for me if I can get out out doing dishes ,.LOL!.

it is to early yet. they should wait at least until after Thanksgiving. When I was a manager of a retail store the Board of Directors allowed the Manager of each individual store to determine when Christmas decorations were to be put up. For our store I insisted we wait until after Thanksgiving. Many customers commented how nice it was we decorated for Thanksgiving and then Christmas.

WAY too early for the music. The upside is that I was able to buy my husband a Santa hat to wear on Halloween!
