Elizabeth I was born September 7, 1533 at Greenwich Palace in England.

She succeed the throne when her older half-sister, Mary I, died on November 17, 1558.

On March 24, 1603 she died in England after a 45 year reign.

Elizabeth is the second child of Henry VIII of England to survive infancy; her mother was Henry's second wife, Anne Boleyn. Elizabeth was born in the Palace of Placentia in Greenwich, on 7 September 1533. She spent most of her childhood at Hatfield House (country house set in a large park, the Great Park, on the eastern side of the town of Hatfield, Hertfordshire, England).
