I'm a female that loves football, so I can understand the Sunday Football "addiction" All the women in my family do, as well as sports in general. Perhaps you could try to learn more about it and watch it with him. It's actually exciting, you can even try some "couple games" when your team makes a touchdown. Perhaps, he'll be into bring sex into watching football :0) You can make it ritual by cooking nachos and buffalo wings, every sunday before the game, and spend time together that way.
Personally, I don't think you should tear him away from the TV, though. Just let him do his thing and try to give him some company (it's fun watching it w/ someone else), or go out w/ your friends on sunday or join a class and make it your personal day, as well.
Good Luck! :0)

Does he pay attention to you the other 6 days of the week? If he does, cut him some slack. I find nothing more relaxing after working 40-50 hours during the week, than to sit, drink a couple beers and watch some football games on Sunday. Every other day I do whatever my wife wants, whether it is shopping, or watching what she wants on TV, so when Sunday comes around it is my day.

There are only two things guys like more than watching football. You already know what they are, but I'll tell you anyway:
1. Sex! The more unusual and exciting, the better.
2. Food! The more unusual and exciting, the better*
*Note: "Usual" foods such as burgers, pizza, etc...also work on males.
If you don't provide one or both of these things, then he's gonna watch football.

You know he doesn't want to miss this week epically when the Pats and Colts play this week. This game will probably be better and more intense than the Super Bowl because we know that the Patriots could beat down any NFC team.

I don't understand why women don't want their men to watch football. So what if it is all day. If I work all week and want to sit back and watch football all weekend, I should be able to do so and not have someone nagging me.

You just don't understand. It would be best if you found something that you liked to do by yourself or with your girlfriends during that time. If you want to spend that time with him, ask some intelligent questions about the games - most guys love teaching a woman about sports if they genuinely are trying to understand them. Or just curl up on the couch next to him and read a book.
However, it has to be said: Brett Favre (Packers' QB) is the most over-rated quarterback in the history of the NFL.

Either get a new boyfriend that doesn't watch football, or let him be a man on Sundays and let the guy watch football in peace.
