Because most countries sell ice as it is cheap and ready. Ice normally don't taste of anything if it is just water. Britain has only started using ice recently more so. In the USA ice is used for all fizzy drinks and have ice machines everywhere from service stations to hotels. Americans do a better job of adding freely neccessities that the cheapskate UK want you ask and pay for. We still get no ice in most places that you should expect even for Coke except few places like McDonalds. It is about time we started getting some proper service around here.

I use them for an ice bath after a brutal workout, some people use them for keeping things fresh in transportation, but mostly its just a convenience thing....

Yes. They do tast better than homemade ones. Tap water isn't all its cracked up to be. Often there is residue in icecubes from the freezer.

No they don`t taste better than home made ones.There is always a market for something that people are too lazy to do for themselves.

Ha ha, I wouldn't have thought so, think they sell them for people who have big parties and for those who have barbecues in the summer.
