Ive always thought because gym hunks have super built abs, that there is no way they could have got from doing crunches.

Anything where you contract your rectus abdominis is working your abs. I'm doing it right now. You can do it anytime you want. You have to learn to stand and sit up straight and you'll work your abs all the time. You need to lose weight if you want to see them.

no. abs come from lowering bf. crunches and other ab exercises just make them grow. Bench press is for pecs and arms.

Not in the slightest, unless you are tightening them while doing bench. Abs respond to repetition on them, and bench works mostly chest and biceps.
