There are thousands of people flying every day with no deaths. The odds are probably 1 in a million now. 1% would be disastrous. Three people will die on your flight? I won't be there.

I still believe deaths from car accidents far outnumber deaths from airline crashes, I'll take my chances in the air - I feel safer flying than driving!
I've been on 5 flights that I am aware of that have had near misses either on take-off or landing, but there probably have been many incidents that I was not aware of, it is scary to think about, but I still feel better flying than driving because I drive every day, so many more chances to die than the few times a year I may fly.
Peace!

Nah. The planes are old, but they are built very well. I was on a plane, and the pilot announced before take-off that an engine failed. It was THE most raggedy 737 I have ever seen. But I made it. And the flight itself wasn't bad. I still trust them.

Ironically, I was coming home from a three week course in Aerospace engineering. And my plane never did fly without crashing. So as long as I don't design it, I'm fine. :)

That report was deeply flawed and contained obvious errors. It wasn't compiled by NASA, but by a contractor, who clearly didn't know what they were doing.

That said, as long as flying is 'safer than driving,' I'm OK with it.

Its 100% risk of death everytime! Just like crossing a road or driving in a car. Something can always go wrong.

From 0.1 to a Whole 1 Percent! I don't wanna play a daily death lottery (but you have to take this star for a sexy question) !!!

PS

Unless I can book flights for some people at my university

I can't say I'll ever stop flying on commercial airlines. I travel too much to just stop flying.

I'll stop flying when the idiots get off the road.

1% would likely cause all air traffic to be grounded.

At Chicago O'Hare with about 60 takeoffs per hour - that would mean with 1% every hour and a half there would be a fatal crash.
