When you post a "do you like this name" question....people feel compelled to give you more suggestions? My husband and I have names picked out and I just wanted to know what people thought. Did they like them or not...

Reyna for a girl and Ronin for a boy.

Instead I got a ton of responses that said...No I don't like it..how about Ashley? I don't want other suggestions....just whether you like it or not.

Just wondering if other people felt the same way...and what they think of my baby names...

Reyna means Peaceful in Greek translation so...Peaceful Queen (which is why I love it)

And I can't see how they can misspell it....but then again I know that some people are really BAD spellers. Oh well

Haha, I know what your saying. I don't know why they do it--I guess they just want their own touch in there.

By the way, your names Reyna and Ronin and so unique and different, I love them. But, what do you think of Ryan, it works for a boy or girl?

Just kidding :) -KIRA.

I personally think both Reyna and Ronin are beautiful, unique names, and any shild would be lucky to have them, and have parents who put the time into thinking of a good name for their child instead of picking "the ordinary".

As for misspellings and pronunciations....My name is Alyssa and it's been said as "Aleesa" "Alysha" "Alison" (don't ask, I don't know how they got that either), and has been spelled a variety of ways including "Allieyssiah" (I swear, she wrote it on the paper that way).

It's not that big of a deal, just teach your child to correct people if they spell/say it the wrong way and eventually people will learn.

They may not be able to get the cute little pencils with her name on them, but neither could I when I was a kid (though now it's everywhere) , they'll live.

I know what you mean, I get so frustrated when I read a simple questions like "do you like this or that?" and people have to give you their whole life story on how they dont like those names and how you should pick something out of their list. You can ask the simplest question on here and people will just come up with some weird answer that you specifically said you did not want.

I like Reyna, I think it's cute.

What else is very annoying is when people say "their names will be mispronounced or misspelled." I have a very simple name, Rebecca, but people say REbecca when the correct way to say is RAbecca. People spell my name so different and sometimes so wrong. I have to correct a lot of people, but it's not as big of a deal as people tend to think. And how many children do you remember going to school with that got teased or beat up over a name? I have NEVER seen that happen over a childs name. So where people get that idea, I have no idea.

I understand your point, but you really should consider Ashley!

Just kidding :-)

I like the name Reyna. It is different, but not too weird. It is pretty. I like that you know and appreciate the name's meaning.

Ronin is nice. It is pronounced Roh-nin, right? However, when I look at it I first see Ron-in, but I know that's not right. He may have to occasionally correct people, but I think it is a nice name. Reminds me of a friend's baby who is Roman (but that's not a suggestion!) :-)

Congratulations!

I know what you're talking about=)
I find it kind of annoying.. especially when the names they suggest are completely opposite of the kind you're looking for=) Usually coming from their heritage, and they're not thinking of yours=]

I AM guilty of doing exactly that a few times, but rarely.
When I do, I usually try to give examples of similar names, though=)

I do actually like the names you have=]
Especially Reyna!
It means "queen," I love it=)

PS
For everyone who says Reyna is going to be misspelled, "Reyna" is the original spelling.. plus it's an obvious spelling.. i don't know how it would be spelled incorrectly

Reyna is cute, but i'd spell it Raina.

Not a fan on Ronin. How about this name instead...kidding. Good luck with the names!

I like Ronin but not Reyna.

I like Reyna...prefer Raina spelling, but it has a nice sound. Sorry..............Ronin is not a good name! It's like putting a curse on the poor child. Probably people gave you different names instead of hurting your feelings. There is still time to change your mind. Be kind.

I don't like either one. No offense, I just don't like the way they sound.

In spanish Reyna is spelled differently, but pronounced pretty much the same....It means queen.

I only give name suggestions if people ask for them. Other than that I just tell them what I think of the name. I don't like either name you have picked out. Good luck and congrats!
