Im building myself a computer right now and its going to be mostly for gaming. i want it to be powerful enough to run games that arent out yet at least for a decent amount of time that way it doesnt go obsolete in a couple of months. i know how to put everything together and i was wondering if the parts i have chosen are all compatible right now. this is what i have.

i was thinking of just doing 4 gb of the corsair low latency. only a few more bucks and it would make it run nicer. what about overclcoking? i know about it and i know what it is. and im pretty sure the motherboard supports it. but is it even worth it?

i just chose the audio card because it was cheap. im not really looking to have a reallly nice audio set up. but i mean if you have other ideas could you link them? im always open for it. and i also just chose that hard drive because im trying to save money where i can and im having trouble filling up my current 80 gb so i figured 160 would be plenty. or 200 or wahtever it is

Sounds like a pretty kick-@ss system except... I would get a bit more powerful power supply, If you decide to run a second graphics card in SLI, you will need a lot of power.
Also is that 2GB or 4GB of RAM? Two will do fine but for the DX10 games coming out and to compliment your quad-core processor, you will eventually want 4.
Also, 200 GB is not a lot of storage these days. Hard drives have gotten pretty reasonable for 7200 rpm models. You may want to get two hard drives and put them in a RAID 0 (performance) configuration. Also get SATA 300 drives.
Regarding overclocking, you can overclock your graphics cards and get a better performance increase than overclocking your processor. Of course you could do both but use plenty of cooling.

Nice setup, the only thing I see missing is the case (are you using one you already have?) and your cooling.
The motherboard will help but you will need a Core 2 Duo Quad heat sink and fan to match. May be an extra fan for the case to move fresh air around inside.
Don't go overboard on the fans unless you can put the computer in a sound proof enclosure. I have two servers and two desktops in my office, souds like I am next to a runway.

I have twin 8800GTS OC'd...hope you're planning on running SLI. No need to get an SLI motherboard and only run one video card. Get two hard drives and run a RAID - 0 for fastest performance. 500 watts would be too low for this...I'd move up to at least 700 watts. Check out the Antec 900 case...no worries about airflow.

The CPU , change it to the Q6600 Q0 model, almost same price.
Spent a few more bucks and get a 320 or 400GB
Otherwise is a well spec machine.

I'd prefer a Seagate drive and I wouldn't waste my money on the Audigy card.
