Do other contries not deserve the right to create there own society? How come the USA pick's and choose's who they want to help? are there not countries who’s people were far worse off than the Iraqi people?(like in Africa)why is it OK for the US to have an enormous stockpile of nuclear arms and then call other countries evil for trying to create the same deterrent system? When i was young there was a bullie in my village who would call everyone stupid and push his weight around as we got older it was him that was stupid. is this the same as the USA calling other contries evil? are they the evil ones? how come thay never help people who dont have things thay want?

As far as helping the rest of the world and being a leader America, as usual, is full of it.

Help given can only be calculated on a formula of wealth and how much given on a per capita basis.

If we only calculate, though, on a per capita basis America falls way behind. Most countries that give enormously don't brag about it at every chance like the US and Oprah.

The Scandinavian countries give by far the most and Norway has forgiven third world debt. They won't claim money owed.

Unlike the US, other countries don't tie in 'help' with having to buy from America. This is not help. The desperate economies need to use the money buying from each other. Giving and taking back is not helping.

America helps Israel fight the Palestinians and vetoes UN resolutions against Israel that were meant to protect Palestinians. What a wonderful help that is!

America has always protected American interests and only American interests. An example was United Fruits in Guatemala. They managed to get 75% of arable land through purchases and deals and influence. They allowed no use of the land by Guatemalans and used a very small % for their own use. Remember Tennessee Ernie Ford and the song "14 Tons". Well that is what United Fruits did in Guatemala. They paid only in company money that could not be used at the village store thus impoverishing small business owners. The money was only redeemable at "The Company Store" at inflated prices. A new 'elected' government moved to protect its people from the evil dictatorial nature of United Fruits and the US took the government of Guatemala to the World Court spending millions in defense of 'American Interests'.

This is what we can expect from almost every US presidential administration. And we claim to help the world.

We are responsible for overthrowing, covertly, the elected Chilean government leading to the propping up of the murderous Pinochet. Nixon attributed $10 million just to a media campaign against the elected government. The only thing important to the US here was the interest of American companies raping the people of Chili. This type of horror has continued and is continuing.

I could go on and on. It's all factual. Use the Freedom of Information Act to check this out. Also, look up CIA covert activities under Nixon and Johnson and Kennedy for a start.

Slow down, and here is a heads up. We don't try if we did we would be in Africa. Iraq has the leadership to initiate their own country we have just provided the opportunity to do that. Africa is a monster we cannot assist in. The only leadership is the syndicates or gang lords within the country. The only way we could help would be to do just what you have suggested, something this country will not do. If leadership within the African countries could provide a genuine leader for and by the people of the entire country we would be there to help in a heart beat.

It's called imperialism. Capitalism requires constant growth and that growth requires the capitalist to develop new sources of wealth by finding new markets and resources. The result is the privatizing of everything possible at home and war abroad as those "new markets" always belong to someone else. Other peoples and their forms of government are demonized in an attempt to rally the home population behind the drive for imperialist conquest.

"Imperialism is the highest form of capitalism." -- Lenin

They (we) get to choose who we help because it is us doing the helping.

It is not the stockpile of nuclear arms that is at issue. It is the totalitarian dictatorship other countries have that is at issue.

You are wrong about the U.S. not helping someone who doesn't have something to give in return (other then thanks which we don't get often).

Examples
Who gives the Palestinians the most help - U.S.A.
Who help the tsunami victims the most - U.S.A.
Who gives the most for African AIDS relief - U.S.A. (notice George Bush doubled the amount Clinton gave as president)

That's the point of spreading democracy...that way the people get to choose their own path instead of having an evil murdering dictator choose it for them or kill them for not conforming.

Just because we can't help everyone all at once doesn't mean we shouldn't help anyone...we have to start somewhere...

We do not call other countries evil...we call some of their leader's evil...the people have little choice in the matter...

You are cheating. You asked many questions and only gave up 5 points for one question.
No one in the US is trying to dictate to anyone in any other country. We have given many millions of people the opportunity to choose their own form of government: Japan, Germany, South Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan.
They all have different forms of government and none are similar to the US's form. So you are wrong with your question.
