NOOOOOOOOOOO! RETIRING WILL KILL YA!! LOL!
Yes! If you have your pension or 30 years in then it is GOOD to retire from that Career. BUT I don't think anyone really can retire without having some goal, without having some other interest that they truly enjoy and want to pursue.. I think retiring from your job, is just a way of changing careers...perhaps doing the thing(s) you always wanted to but never felt you could...I think go for it, if it is in your best interest financially (NOW don't get hung up on that you -one can always save more). I think you will enjoy the FREEDOM of the Clock! And for a while you will enjoy the sleep in mornings and the time to read a book or what ever you are into...but at some point you will feel a need to get involved again...hopefully in an area that you truly wanted to explore. I am retired and I feel the need to volunteer and truly enjoy it, but I have goals too, like to write a book, and to travel to Africa and see Neo who I support financially and enjoy his world and family. Seriously, that is a huge expense but it is worth it to me! Find your passion(s) and go do it, life is just too short to stick to the 7-3 0r the 5-9 when you have other chooses. God Bless!

Usually its NOT healthy to retire - more people die in the first year after retirement than at any other time. I've no intention of retiring - but then, I have a job where I'm in demand forever, so I have a choice. when my dear partner retired this year, I suggested that he get a volunteer job or two, and he is now delivering meals to older folks, and working at the local museum as a guide twice a week. You do need something to keep your brain and body ticking over.

Every person is different.I work with a 77 year old that will never stop. Her hubby 78 stopped long ago.Retirement would be nice if you retire and do what you want when you want.Very few get to enjoy it....I hope just to retire don't care for how long....

Depends on what one thinks retiring means. I used to think retiring meant not having to worry about surviving. In that case yes. I thought retiring was when you could read a book and not worry about bills. I thought retiring was picking between weeding the garden and raking leaves without worring about when to pick the kids up. I thought retireing ment you could go in hospital and have your home still be there when you got out.

I'm sure it's an individual thing....I know some who thoroughly have enjoyed being fully retired but most prefer to stay active in the work force...which I plan to do as long as I am able.

I have worked in a factory, standing on concrete floors for over 30 years. It has been hot and noisey. I can't wait to retire. I will still work, but it will be less hours and a job that I enjoy.

I would definitely like to find out.
but to me retiring, is being able to go in a different direction.
to do the things I enjoy, not the things I have too.
although I really do enjoy my Job, and the fellowship from the people I work with.
there are so many thing that I have planned to do, and so many fish that are begging me to catch them.

Retiring just means;" not having to answer to a time clock" -- beyond that, same action - different location.

I don't think anyone really retires anymore. Most people get a check from social security and take less demanding jobs.
