Can anybody who's taken Clomid tell me about side effects you experienced, and if it worked well for you?

If it did help you conceive, how long did it take you to conceive after starting it?

Thanks!

My first round I took 50mg for 5 days on days 5-9 I didn't ovulate that cycle.

My second round I was increased to 100mg on the same days. I ovulated on CD19 and by CD32 I had my first BFP( positive pregnancy test)

as for side effect, I had none the first month, but after the increase I had hot flashes, night sweats, Extreme Mood swings.

Unfortunately I don't have a success story from Clomid. I took three cycle of Clomid starting in August this year. I took my third round but got my period today. The stress is getting too much for hubby and I so we are taking a break from everything until after the holidays.

I took 50 mg days 5-9 for the first 2 cycles. I didn't ovulate the first month and had a 30 day cycle but I did ovulate second cycle on day 19 and had a 39 day cycle. I took 100mg days 5-9 the third cycle and ovulated day 20 and had a 36 day cycle.

I didn't have any side effects really on the 50 mg other than I was a little more moody right before my period came than usual. On the 100 mg the moodiness was a little worse about a week before my period came and I had lots of hot flashes.

Clomid works for alot of people but not always. It is a drug the tricks your body into making more estrogen and therefor makes your body ovulate. But you still only have about a 25% chance of catching that egg with sperm each cycle. But most doctor agree that if you haven't conceived in 6 months the benefits start to get outweighed by the risks and Clomid may not be for you.

I would definately discuss the risks vs benefits with your doctor. I was under the impression that it was a miracle drug and I would definately get pregnant and that was hard to deal with.

I have "unexplained infertility". Been TTC 12 months. The doctor put me on Clomid and ultrasounds to "time" intercourse, and hopefully up my odds of conceiving. The first two months I was prescribed 50mg days 3-7. I had an egg each month, and good lining, but no pregnancy. The third month I was prescribed days 1-7 50 mg. I had two beautiful eggs (one on each side) and good lining. Thought FOR SURE that would be my month. NOPE. Now I have moved on to Femara. My main Clomid side effects was moodiness! I could've killed my hubby on most days LOL.

I have a lot of insight on this one. I have conceived six times thanks to Clomid. Three ended in miscarriage and three beautiful babies. Well I am on number 3 now but we are 28 weeks through this pregnancy.

The only side affect I have had is extremely irritable. I got pregnant each time within the first two months. Three I took 50mg and three 100mg.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me.
