Why is it the new thing for people???........It's so stupid! Most of them don't even know what real Libertarians believe.

Just because you smoke pot doesn't make you a Libertarian.

I'm for legalized drugs, big guns, killing the IRS, shutting down public education, and letting the oil companys do whaever the hell they want. But even all that doesn't make me a Libertarian.

I agree with maybe 95% of what they believe, but I still don't think of my self as a Libertarian.

You have too many people that say they are ,but still want things like public assistance, big regulations on companys, and affirmative action.

If you are a Libertarian you can't agree with any of that!

I consider myself a conservative with some libertarian beliefs.

Small government, sticking to the constitution, states rights, following the rule of law, oppose gun control, government out of our private and economic lives as much as possible, low taxes, privatrization of education, privatization of social security, no socialized medicine, federal sales tax as opposed to a federal income tax along with the abolishment of the IRS, private property rights, legalizing marijuana and taxing it like liquor, free market capitalism, etc.

The one thing I strongly oppose that a lot of libertarians support, is open border immigration.

Basically, libertarians believe in the most amount of liberty on both social and fiscal/economic issues. Let me live my life the way I want as long as I don't infringe on other peoples rights and obey the law, and let me keep as much of my hard earned money as possible!

Problem is, the libertarian party, as well as any third party candidate, is a wasted vote. Unless it's on a local level. That's why I am a registered republican.

How do you define libertarian? It sounds like you're rejecting the whole concept without having a clear idea of what it means. You seem to be insinuating that only nut jobs are libertarians, but some of the ideas you espouse go beyond the libertarian agenda, particularly shutting down public education. Libertarians simply believe in the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, as promised by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. What you're talking about goes beyond libertarianism and into nihilism.

I agree with the 2nd Amendment, killing the IRS, legalizeing cannibis (and I don't smoke weed) and "drugs" that come from the earth entirely, getting government to stop trying to be everyone's babysitter, and I don't know about oil companies doing whatever they want, because wouldn't we be paying like $10 a gal?
I don't know what to call myself, but I'm pretty sure that all career politicians can all be called crooked.
Maybe we should have an amendment added that you can only be in gov't X amm. of years, and then you're done, no more. And campaigns can only cost so much not just limiting the ammount one person can give?

I am a libertarian, a libertarian is someone who believes in both economic liberty (the free market) and in personal liberty. If you are not certain where you fit on the political map the World's Smallest Political Quiz may help you.

Ronald Reagan said that any American who believes in and supports the Constitution and the Bill of Rights is a Libertarian. I don't think he was only referring to the political party.

Um...

Joseph Dejacque, in 1857, criticised Proudhon's sexism (nobody's perfect) as "libéral et non LIBERTAIRE," i.e. "classical-liberal and not LIBERTARIAN."

The "Libertarian Party" didn't invent the word.

Actually that does make you a Libertarian. And you probably believe in a great number of other crazy things. And Libertarians are stupid. If you believe you should be able to do anything you want (not within reason), you are a Libertarian. The opposite of Liberal. Libertarians don't all smoke pot. Most are crazy. I know one when I see one.

Let people choose what they want.
