About 20 years ago in grade school, we made little reindeer heads out of yarn, pipe cleaners, and plastic sheets that have little squares in them. Once put together, you could squeeze the reindeer's cheeks and the mouth would open and you could put a piece of candy in it. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I would like to make them as Christmas gifts, but I need a pattern or instructions. Thanks!

It's plastic canvas. I've made these, and they are just the right size for a Hershey Kiss. Here's a video.

I remember those too. I found some at a church craft show -- santas, bears, even a lion.

Here is a link that shows how to make a santa head.

Scroll down and you will see the pattern has the basic design of the plastic canvas pieces and how they are stitched together. You could alter it to make the reindeer or other types.

I don't have a video, but a link to a book for additional "critters." Good luck!
